CV
Works begin with writing. Poetry, as Etel Adnan says, is a state of mind. To play with language, I pour it into physical form. It is the transparency of language, which tempts me to introduce it into physical and special conditions. I have been working with glass, a substance similar to language in that it is liquid, just slower. Glass is a comrade of stretched time, like a warm summer day, mel-ted or blown to a bubble. Language is texture, material, sometimes resembling a clear liquid and sometimes it seems extremely thick and sticky. I work mainly with installation, text, and film. The combination of different materials is important to me, but the core of my work is composition. I see my works as choreographies. Working with space means thinking in space and going through this process is important because it gives me the opportunity to think about articulation and inter-dependence – until I get back to the starting point – back to language.
