What inspires me is the accessibility of the world through our senses and the various ways in which the body reflects and relate to our shared environment.
The perception of the human body is subject to constant change. Social discourse constantly encourages us to renegotiate personal and public perceptions of vulnerability and resilience. In view of climatic challenges and the resulting changes in living conditions, the question of the body is moving further into the center of anthropocentric discourses and into the focus of my own work. My work is nourished by feminist approaches developing counter narratives to the structurally dominant construct of bodies and the environment. I seek practices that are not oriented towards appropriation or exctraction, but towards care and resonance. In my research I combine material research and feminist theory. Resilience and somatic memory are at the core of my processes. I work mainly with installations, inviting multiple material expressions. For time to time I curated exhibitions. I am a member of The Guesthouse, an Artist-led initative running an international AIR Program and I am a member of The National Sculpture Factory. Both are located in Cork, Ireland.
